Identify the right academic program and campus

  • Decisions for the best possible area of study and career development for students and graduates.

  • Determine the institution that properly matches academic interests and skills, as well as athletic, social, and extra-curricular preferences by reviewing relevant factors that include but are not limited to curriculum, location, costs, culture, safety, and accommodations.

Application to chosen institution

  • Prepare a checklist of required documents and tests, along with a timeline for complying with all deadlines.

  • Consolidate a summary of realistic estimated costs for tuition & fees, accommodations, extracurricular activities, transportation, insurance, and living expenses. 

  • Identify financial aid that is available both in home country and in the U.S. – such as scholarships, loans, internships, and work-study programs.

  • Ensure that all mandated forms are completed.

  • Guidance with essays or personal statements about unique educational background, work and life experiences, career plans, as well as personal interests and passions.  

  • Assemble letters of recommendation that may be required for admission, financial aid, and career training programs.

  • Provide transcript and courier services.

  • Preparation for required tests such as the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT), Graduate Record Examination (GRE), Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), International English Language Testing System (IELTS), and Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

  • Counseling for in-person or online interviews.

Travel to the U.S. and Settling-in

  • Guidance through the procedure of visa application, interview protocols, and consulate processing. 
     

  • Assist with making your travel plans – such as identifying the best routes, times, and costs. 
     

  • Assistance with arranging your accommodations -- either on-campus or off-campus.  
     

  • Orientation prior to departure and on arrival about the culture on campus and in the local community to succeed in studies and enjoy time in the U.S.
     

  • Free international SIM card for easy communications with GESI’s team as well as with family during the process of settling in a new environment.
     

  • Recommendations for appropriate recreational and professional development activities.
     

  • Assistance with foreign currency transactions.
     

  • Referrals for legal services, notably for F-1 visa applications, through Gehi & Associates, a full-service law firm with offices in New York City and Bombay.
